Indonesian Youth Pledge Day
October 28th is a big day in Indonesia. Society of Indonesia always celebrate the day to remind how great the youth roles as an agent of change, that can bring freedom to Indonesia. The day named Youth Pledge day.
In october 28th 1928, Indonesian youth in the second youth congress declared their pledge to Indonesia. The pledge itself has three points as the based of nationality. The points are :
Pertama
Kami poetra dan poetri Indonesia, mengakoe bertumpah darah jang satoe, tanah air Indonesia.
Kedua
Kami poetra dan poetri Indonesia, mengakoe berbangsa jang satoe, bangsa Indonesia.
Ketiga
Kami poetra dan poetri Indonesia, mendjoendjoeng bahasa persatoean, bahasa Indonesia
Firstly
We the sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledge one motherland, Indonesia.
Secondly
We the sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledge one nation, the nation of Indonesia.
Thirdly
We the sons and daughters of Indonesia, uphold the language of unity, Indonesian
This pledge declare on the third session on second youth congress with the declaration of the future Indonesian national anthem too, Indonesia Raya by Wage Rudolf Supratman. Hopefully, the spirit on Indonesian Youth will never die and bigger all the time by remind the day like a fire get the fuel.
